Samsung 837

On Wednesday, November 13, we went to Samsung 837. I thought it was really cool to see all of the technology and innovation. Being a Samsung user myself, it was interesting to see how their technology has evolved over the years. I currently have the Galaxy S10, which is one of their newer products that came out earlier this year. I haven't even had this phone for half a year yet, but there are already new things being released.

During the tour, the most interesting thing to me was the home appliances. Back when I was in elementary school, there was a movie called "Smart House" that was about a computerized house. I always thought the entire situation was bizarre and could never happen, at least not in my lifetime. Now I see that we have refrigerators that you can video call from and knows when your food is about to expire. Washer/dryer units are also Wi-Fi equipped so that you know when your laundry is done. I believe that a "smart house" could be possible in the next decade. It probably has already been done and that's how rich people live, but I can now imagine myself living in that type of environment. There are so many things that I used to think were impossible or so far away from being possible, and now they are soon to being common household items (like the Amazon Alexa/Google Home).

After the tour, I was able to stay and explore Samsung 837 a bit more. There was a station where you can customize your own phone case for free and get it within 10 minutes. You use one of their phones and S-pen to create the phone case, and they provide different backgrounds, artwork, and an option to draw on it yourself. I wanted to try it out and ended up doing a very basic design, but it was a cool experience.

While I was waiting for my phone case, I decided to try out the AR room. I didn't know what it actually did. I thought that what I drew on the phone would show up on the walls in the room, but it only shows up on the phone. Still, the experience was interesting. I also found out that I can do the same thing on my phone. Through my experience at Samsung, I was able to see a lot of the new technology that they were putting out as well as learn more thing about my own phone that I didn't know I could do before. I plan to go again so that I can do some more things that I didn't do before.
